That's what over half of Guatemalans live with because they cook their food over open, barely contained fires.
This leads to chronic respiratory disease, blindness, and severe burns. Small children, typically carried on their mothers' backs, are constantly exposed to smoke and toxic fumes.
Families can spend over 20 hours per week gathering wood and carrying it long distances. Our stoves greatly reduce the amount of wood needed.
Instead, we build stoves that are designed to burn efficiently and have chimneys which remove the harmful smoke. We use locally purchased materials and local labor. What's more, material for the stoves is relatively inexpensive.
To date, we've completed over 2000 stoves. You can sponsor a complete stove for just $300. In return you'll receive a personal "thank you" from the family whose lives you've changed.
But any donation will be greatly appreciated!
100% of all donations to this 501c3 go for projects. No funds are used for administration.
